Planning for a wedding can be very stressful. Not always the best way to usher in a lifetime of happiness and companionship!
Wedding planning can definitely be overwhelming and challenging for a new couple. One of the most common mistakes I see is people spending WAY too much. Look, there’s nothing wrong with having an extravagant, expensive wedding, IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT!
Don’t spend every last dollar you have on your wedding because that could potentially lead to difficult times early on in your marriage.
Money is THE MOST COMMON source of fighting in marriages. In fact, it’s actually the most common reason for divorce. So instead of starting your marriage off with financial problems, be smart.
This article does a great job of sharing tips on how to have a top notch wedding without breaking the bank.
I found this video recently that talks about planning a budget friendly wedding. I think you’ll get a ton of value from it, so I thought I’d share it on this blog.
How To Plan A Wedding On A Budget
My sister recently got married as well and I was very impressed with how she and her new husband handled the wedding planning.
They did spend a lot of money on their wedding (in my opinion) but they were prepared. Their engagement was almost a year long which allowed them some time to save for it.
So they did not borrow any money… they paid for everything with CASH, including the honeymoon. This allowed them to start their marriage with a clean slate. They didn’t have the stress of debt hanging over their shoulders.
As a newly married couple, you’re going to spend the first few years learning how to be married and how to live together gracefully. It’s not always going to be easy so I think it’s very wise to avoid adding unnecessary financial strain to the relationship.
So I hope that you really did get some value from the video above.
